About Us

Founded in 1939 and based at Baltimore’s Mt. Pleasant Ice Arena, the Baltimore Figure Skating Club is committed to helping Baltimore’s figure skaters pursue their goals and dreams. We are a private, non-profit organization whose mission is to support the development and promotion of amateur figure skating in the Baltimore area. BFSC offers programs and activities for skaters of all ages and levels.

As a member club of U.S. Figure Skating, we provide opportunities for our members to participate and advance in the USFS testing and competition structure. We offer regular test sessions in Moves in the Field, Freestyle and Dance and host the Chesapeake Open, an annual competition for No-Test through Senior levels that draws skaters from up and down the East Coast. Other activities include club-sponsored practice ice, group lessons through our Skating Academy, social events and skating exhibitions.
